For my birthday, a friend got me my fist numbered jersey, a beautiful Hossa 81.

I've hadn't worn it yet but broke it out when the Hawks couldn't buy a goal in the first period. Sure enough, Hoss got a goal not long after.

I took it off and my wife noticed about an inch of threading was loose on the low lower left part of the number 8. It can't be returned or exchanged because my friend gets them from his brother who knows a guy that knows a guy that gets them when they "fall off a truck" type of deal. I didn't ask questions.

Anyways, the threading looks double-stitched and there are loops and loose ends sticking up in the one area.

Where would be the least expensive place to get this fixed correctly?

Nah get cid's balls.

Do you or your wife know anyone who is good at sewing? Maybe you can take it to them and explain what you want done and they can help you. I think the only thing you'd have to say is that the look on the stitching can't be changed all the modifications would have to be done on the inside of the jersey so no one sees it.

It's not just normal stitching though. I'll try to post a pic tonight.

When ever topics like this come up people always mention Triple Threat Sports, I don't know anything about them, but depending on where you live that could be a place to start?

You get what you pay for?

Post pics of the problem, but also humor me and take pics of the back of the jersey, Indian Head, and "C" with tomahawks.

Sometimes the "fall of the truck" items have been run over by that same truck 3 times.

Mass is correct with TTS.

I'm in the far NW burbs and I think TTS would be far. I know there is a Jerry's in Hoffman Estates but I figured an actually hockey place like that would be much more expensive than elsewhere.

Tater,

Exclusive Pro Sports here in Rockford does the stitching for the Rockford IceHogs along with numerous other NHL and NFL teams.

I would reach out to them. You can get some great deals on jerseys through them from time to time as well so I have been told. They have done some stitching for me on hockey jerseys.

Thanks. I was hoping for something a little closer to home but I'll keep them in mind if I can't find something closer.

Also, I have no idea if it is authentic (probably not) and if it isn't I don't want to put too much money into it.

Bah, pictures are hard to take up that close and they came out like crap. Not worth posting.

I'll try to take it to Jerry's tomorrow and have them look at it.

Quick update: Definitely not real.

On the same note, I took it in to Jerry's in Hoffman Estates to get the stitching looked at. I had never been there before. They weren't sure their guy could do it so they took it in back to have the guy look at it.

About 3 minutes later they bring it out and it was sewn up (not with the same stitching, but who cares it's a fake).

I asked what I owed and they told me NOTHING.

Great people there, I would definitely recommend that place.
