If all goes well I can DEFINITELY see him not only getting more minutes than Brewer but taking over as the Starter.

Impressive on BOTH ends of the floor.

NBA READY!

Yes, it is preseason, but the fearlessness approach to his very first game is a sign of things to come.....I'm not gonna go as far as to say he's gonna start, but the potential is definately there for him......he's a lot like Gibson was when he came in.....CONFIDENT......

He's a 5 position player. He'll learn the point at some stretch of the season and how to run the offense. Will he be a backup PG? NO! But he can be a point forward. It all depends on how hard he works. This guy has a high ceiling.

I liked what I saw from Butler today.

It's too early to say how good or bad he will be, but I think he's got potential.

They guy is a small forward. He can post and play the perimeter. He was better in the post while he was at Marquette, which is why he was projected as a small forward. He can guard multiple positions and has the ability to play multiple positions. But as of now he is better suited as a small forward. Not shooting guard.

He definitely has the chops to help us this year on both ends of the floor. Honestly, the Bulls have drafted extremely well the last few years. I'm still kind of bummed we never got to see what James Johnson could really do.

You can't call this guy a starting anything because he scored 8 points in a preseason game. Dickey Simpkins was getting double-doubles in his first preseason games. Means absolutely nothing.

Yes!... Kind of. I like Butler, but I don't LOVE him as a SG (not on offense). I would love to see Jimmy play the primary specialized-defender-role similar to the role Luol played last year. Butler has the size and arm length to be very pesky against taller, offense driven players. If he increases his strength and continues to chase Rose's coattails I have no doubt Jiimmy will excell playing along side the youngest MVP.

We did, it wasn't much. He had potential but I feel he was too hesitant- almost like he felt he didn't belong. Maybe it was his coordination? Who knows, but he was unrefined. But I, too, wish James could have taken advantage of his opportunities with the Bulls. We'll see what he does in Toronto.

Love Jimi.

I just feel like Butler fits the mold of this team better than a large majority of rookies. His attitude is fantastic, a "team-first" kind of guy. His ceiling reminds me a lot of Shane Battier -- a guy that can come in and provide quality minutes no matter who you're playing. He brings a lot of things to the table without taking anything away from it.

Derrick Rose spoke very highly of him after their first pre-season game.

"I told you he's great, man," Rose said after Friday night's game. "He's a great addition to our team. With him being so young and understanding the game. And he has a lot of confidence, quiet confidence. Where when he's out there, he's always doing something good. He can defend. Plays smart, man, especially being a rookie. He's one of the pieces I think coach is going to use a lot."

His diversity and ability to defend multiple positions is going to be valuable, especially in a shortened season. If we have an injury, we have the depth that many other teams covet. I'm excited to see what kind of contributions he'll make as the year progresses.

I like him a lot but like I said I dont see him getting a ton of minutes on this team...

We have a log jam of wings... Thibs rides the shit out of Luol... And Korver, Rip, and Ronnie are all 2/3s
