So I have a job interview in a little less than an hour for an internet specialist position with a car dealership. I'm freaking out a little cause I don't really have any design samples that I can use for the interview, but I'm going to go anyway. I hate interviews. I wish I could just be calm and be myself at these things. :nervous:

Good luck man. It's okay to tell them you're weak at interviews but good with your job.

In your interview, be sure to make imaginary pistol-shooting motions with your hands. That usually goes over well. Good luck.

I'm going to quote as many movies as I can think of.

I'm working on an auto related site as we speak, lol (product for dealerships to generate leads). Good luck with your interview.

Good luck! I'm not gonna even try to give you advice, I'm terrible at interviews.

The job posting didn't say much about designing but more about keeping the site up to date and managing the social media presence. We'll see how it goes. I have nothing in the way of a portfolio.

Just keep repeating the word "intrawebs". That will convince them you are the right man for the job

Good luck, dude!

I remember when I was interviewing for a job when I was 17, the manager asked, "So why do you wanna work here?" I replied with, "Well, I don't really wanna work HERE, I just need a job."

I didn't get the job.

Seriously. Especially stupid part-time min. wage jobs. I mean seriously.... do managers/employers really think teens are dying to work as a cashier/stock boy/etc.

I'm 22 now though and almost done with school.... so I gotta get good at this interview thing hahaha.

I wish I would have seen this earlier than right before you had to go to that interview. Was at work and slammed at the moment when I posted the above. Probably could have given some good advice (I've probably interviewed 100 people for those kinds of positions over my career). Hope it went well and you got it!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I really do it. I don't think I nailed it but there is hope. The job basically has a lot to do with using the website analytics and seeing what is working and what isn't. I think we were on the same page on what to focus on and had a lot of ideas in common. He told me to put together some questions and ideas and email them to him and that they would be interviewing 3 finalists next week. I said who do you think you are, Phil Emery. JK.Given time to gather my thoughts I am sure I can do a better job of impressing.

Dude - Let me help you. Not even kidding. Analytics / conversion optimization etc is something I have like a decade of experience in. Plus I've been deeply involved in auto over the last several months. Let me know if you are interested. Not looking for anything here, just trying to help a fellow Bears fan out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again -- everyone should listen to this dude. He and Crys maybe more than anyone else...Dews too...when it comes to the workforce, they think outside the box, and it helps the rest of us that they're willing to help. Listen to these ppl!
