Post any John Dank's rumors in here.

The White Sox didn't add Jordan Danks to their 40-man roster, and Jim Margalus of the South Side Sox speculates that this could be a hint that Chicago is preparing to part ways with John Danks. The elder Danks brother has drawn strong interest on the trade market.

The Yankees like John Danks and the White Sox like many Yankees prospects, particularly Austin Romine. However, Danks is a free agent after 2012 and the Yankees are reluctant to over-spend on a pitcher they’ll have for just one year.
Yanks interested

Lol, cause they didn't keep his brother it means they're also ready to deal John. It was probably the other way around. Danks panned out so they thought his bro might work too.

I'm personally for keeping both of em, but think we could get more in return for Floyd as he has a longer deal, some ill that's a reason to keep Floyd, but ehh...............

Yes we might need a replacement for Buerhle, but SP wasn't the biggest problem we had last year.

I think the Sox need to keep Danks and get rid of Floyd. Both Danks brothers are good and Jordan has a good future. I'd rather have the Danks brothers than Floyd.

Danks is a keeper for sure, especially if Buehrle leaves. But unfortunately if money is the issue, Danks is likely the one to leave.

Same here, I don't like Floyd, never have. If we can get good value for him I'm all for it. And if we lose Burla, Danks becomes our veteran anchor in my opinion so we should keep him

Latest On John Danks
By Tim Dierkes [December 12, 2011 at 7:49am CST]
A week ago, Jon Heyman reported that the Yankees were unwilling to trade Manny Banuelos or Jesus Montero for White Sox lefty John Danks. The newly-minted CBS Sports scribe now tweets that the White Sox asked for two of Montero, Banuelos, or Dellin Betances, and the Yankees might give up one in a package.

It's easy to see why the Yankees have resisted so far, as Danks is only under team control for one year. He'll certainly be motivated with free agency on the horizon, and he would be just 27 years old on the open market. If Danks can put up 32 starts with a sub-4.00 ERA, as was his custom prior to 2011, I think he'll be able to top four years and $50MM. Edwin Jackson's upcoming contract may set the bar.

One executive told ESPN's Buster Olney during the Winter Meetings that the White Sox sought a "Ubaldo Jimenez" package for Danks, which would be hard to defend since Jimenez came with two-plus years of cost certainty. In addition to the Yankees, AL East rivals such as the Blue Jays and Red Sox appear to have checked in.

Danks mentioned in an article about Cooper that he hasn't been worrying about the contract situation, but didn't like that the White Sox didn't try to keep his brother by not placing him on the 40 man roster.
