It will serve alcohol.

Minors will get alcohol. They had one of these clubs in downtown Normal when I was in college, It was so easy, get a 21 year old friend to get 2 beers sneak off to a corner, slam it, rinse repeat. With this one they say booze has to be kept in a seperate room, nothing stopping people from bringing a container in filling it in one room bringing it to another.

Not to mention a breeding ground for teenage predators.

Hun, look at the bright side. It will probably provide great hunting ground for cougars.

Uptown baby!
So Joliet will have something else glamorous going on besides the Speedway and casinos?

I see more murders occurring because of the poor CHOICES being made by drunk KIDS.

This won't work. Imagine the raids by the police and fines against the bar/owner for underage drinking. It's a huge liability and heaven forbid some 16 year old drives out of there drunk and gets into an accident.

In the article, it says:

Minors also must be accompanied by a parent or other authorized adult over 21 before entering the club.

So this means mom or dad can take their 12-yr daughter dressed in slutty attire to the club? Too easy.

Joliet just opened up a new can of worms.

Sounds like 'kiddieland' to me. Let's face it - the 21 and over crowd is not going to want to hang out and drink at a place where moms and dads are bringing junior in the door. Bad idea. Do you guys remember the name of that all ages club in Schaumburg about 10-15 years ago? The name slips my mind but this reminds me of it. The one in Schaumburg failed within the first year.

The one I mentioned in Normal got shut down, simply because they couldn't reel in the underage drinking. The thing I find funny is how supportive the city council is of it. Although i didn't see what the big deal was in that particular case in normal, because they could just walk a block to one of the 200 house parties going on and drink underage.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
The biggest issue is location. No one is going to want to go to downtown Joliet at night. Little parking and too many dark/isolated areas.

The baseball team didn't make it.....Neither will this joint.

The Paladrome was 16 and over but no alcohol. It lasted several years. I went there several times and had a blast. Very similar to Zero Gravity in Naperville but without the rich douchebags and chest thumping...just dancing to loud house/trance music.

Statutory City?

well, stateville is right there, they could just have a shuttle bus to the prison behind the club. **** an underager then go right to prison, it works.

McGreavies was very similar. Lasted many years.
