An NBA.com mock draft has us taking Selby and Marshon Brooks. If we end up keeping our them, those would be two fine picks imo. But again, a lot of things could change with workouts and stuff. I see Selby and Brooks going higher for some reason.

It'd be great if the Bulls could take Selby. Fills a need. Hopefully he can take Brewer's defense and Korver's shooting and put them all into one player.

I remember reading about this guy a year or so ago. He was getting a shit ton of hype, I've seen people compare him to TMac and D-Wade.

considering how low we are drafting...I think Selby would be "WORTH THE RISK" with the #28 or #30 pick

If he stays at Kansas for another year...he is probably a LOTTERY PICK in 2012

if selby falls to y'all i'd take the risk...remember...a bad freshman year in college does not always translate to a bad NBA career....especially if the player is more talented than their college production showed...like jrue holiday

I would take a chance on Selby also. Given the way that LeBron got torched by Terry, I could see this pickup as a solid one...if he can learn to play off of the ball and not take dumb shots, Selby could help take out the Heat in the future. But for this season, I could see him spending time in Iowa with the D-league squad, just to ensure that he gets some playing time. Thibs didn't play James Johnson for having bad shot sellection, and if he sees the same characteristic in Selby, he could be the starting 2-guard for the Energy next year. All of this is, of course, if the Bulls do take him with one of their picks.

How does it fill a need? He only fills a need if he can play.

If we deal for D12 which we easily have the pieces for Selby would be more then enough at SG....

Except Selby is tiny for a SG. If he can't defend the position well then he better be able to drop 20 on a night where Rose is off. The thing about trading for Howard is that we'd have to put in either Noah or Deng into the deal (which is worth it) with Boozer and if we have to deal Deng, who do we replace him with? Even if we got Turkoglu back in a deal, his defense is so bad I don't even know if Thibs could help him. At that point we're the Chicago Magic, but much better. Does that beat Miami? Doubtful, even though our 2 strongest positions would be their weakest.

Just because a guy was a highly recruited prep, that doesnt mean he can cut it in the pros or even college. Though he had a few moments last year, he was mostly a big meh. Based on what he has done in college, there is very little assurance that he can play in the NBA, especially right away.

Note, Im not saying he wont be good but Im assessing the risk based on what he's shown.
