You all missed the 2005 boat, may not dock here again in Chicago anytime soon. Don't live your life by throwing away another opportunity

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bulls
I went to game 1 of the 2005 WS.

It's nice to bring the series to CHITOWN!

YEAH! LET'S DO IT! Wait, isn't the magic number still 17 games or something, because of how close this race is? One step at a time.

You guys don't really need a bandwagon. I know for the most part Sox fans are passionate and knowledgeable about their sport. For whatever reason they just don't go to games at the Cell. That's not really an indictment of the fanbase, but it is puzzling. Maybe it's better that you don't have a bandwagon anyway. Less silliness.

I guess growing up away from Chicago has me out of the loop, but even talking to my dad, who grew up in the late 50s/early 60s, the Sox never really drew well then either. It's very puzzling to me. I've visited my family many times, many of whom live on the South side and I didn't notice any of the so-called "stigmas" of high-crime and danger that many stereotype about that part of the city. In fact, many of my relatives even walk to the games when the weather is nice and have never had any problems.

I understand the sentiment of not supporting a team that seemingly doesn't care about winning, whether it be the management not spending or the players simply not performing well, but to still have lower attendance numbers when the team has played pretty well and been near the top of the AL Central throughout the season is crazy. This is the third largest market in the country. Part of me is inclined to think that maybe the Sox just have a small fan base, but I can't fathom that being the case. Not with the size of Chicago and the suburbs and the amount of people who are baseball fans. Hopefully the team can finish strong and make the postseason to garner some more support as they fight for a World Series.

A good part of it is that Sox fans live so far from the park. I myself am over 45 miles from it. That may not seem like much until you realize it's in Chicago Traffic.
