Caleb's stats are cool and all, but anyone (smart) making an argument for Williams like his traits. The stats are the icing on the cake.

Yup, any scout ever will tell you they draft traits.

When have I ever said any player is “guaranteed”?

Didn't you know? There's a chance he will fail. Therefore, you can't risk drafting him In fact, why ever take any prospect? Not worth the risk. Nevermind that Fields has been a failure for most of his career. He's played two good games! Anyone saying, right now, the Bears will pass on Williams is insane.

It's very simple. IF Fields continues to improve and consistently performs as a high level for the rest of the season you can probably afford to pass on Williams. Right now, you have to be crazy to think that. Williams is special. Passing on him, barring the above qualifiers, would be criminal.

The first two are NFL losers, the terd is tbd....seriously, this has cemented my thoughts on what to do with the first overall pick, if da Bears get it. No f'n way do I want da Bears to pick Williams.....again, thanks for this insight.

It doesn't look like we'll have the #1 pick at this rate, especially given how shitty some other teams are looking.

But, could you image have the #1 overall pick in back to back years and trading down twice lol. Would be unprecedented.

Also, that might speak to how good Fields is or is not lol

Yeah, man. 1-4 just too good a start

If Fields goes into year 4 with the same question marks and possibly a new coaching staff. I think it’s just best to move on at that point.
Anyone that has the same questions a year later has not been paying attention.

Go back to following figure skating.

IF he becomes one. Y’all are so certain he’ll be one like it’s impossible for him to bust
Irrelevant

Whats more likely to be greater

His 2-4 mil in NIL in 2024 while at USC
Or
His NFL contract in year 5 + additional year of pro endorsements....for comparison mitch "busted" and still made 18mil in years 5-6-7 at going rates from 2021-23

Starting the clock sooner always pays more if you're a 1st round pick (esp #1 overall)

Figure skating or 2023 Chicago Bears football…honestly that’s a tougher choice than you think.

And what is Mitch doing now? Maybe Caleb or his father are actually thinking ahead instead of immediately going to a poverty franchise that can possibly fuck up his future

Probably hasn't even made enough to upgrade from his grandma's camry

Sidenote: That's, by far, my favorite scouting story. Mitch got selected over Watson and Mahomes because of his shitty fucking car
