The Magic's signing of Chicago native Quentin Richardson on Monday may have ramifications on whether Orlando matches the Bulls' front-loaded, three-year, $20 million offer sheet for restricted free agent J.J. Redick.

It assures Matt Barnes' exit, however, and the tough, defense-minded forward is on the Bulls' radar.

Barnes could provide defense and toughness while backing up Luol Deng. If signed, he also could push Kyle Korver to split shooting guard minutes with either Redick or whomever the Bulls sign should the Magic match the Redick offer.

Richardson to Magic could send Redick to Bulls - Chicago Breaking Sports

id like to have him, he brings some toughness to the team. imagine him and noah. :elephant:

I'd like to think they wouldn't over pay for Matt Barnes.

Barnes got into it a few times with KOBE last year. I like a guy that will stand up to the stars.

It doesn't matter too much if they overpay or not right now. The only significant FA in the coming years is Carmelo and he's not coming to Chicago. I would say round your team out with pieces that make you better now, never mind the cost (unless its stupid cash) and be a contender now.

That's right but if you overpay him and u want to trade him down the road, it could be harder then.

I like Barnes. I beleive the Magic will match the offer for Reddick. Leaving Barnes, hopefully open to us.

decent Role Player I guess

seems like Orlando will match the Redick offer, looks like they are just trying to hold the Bulls cap space hostage or something, we are screwed if Ronnie Brewer signs with a team in the next few day, I don't know what the Bulls will do for a SG then

Get as many "tough" guys as possible, I say. Been missing that for a while, and gonna need it now with Team Diva being in the East.

Need a tough perimeter defender and Barnes fits that profile. Rose, Deng, Korver, and possibly Redick aren't going to be really great perimeter defenders although Redick and Deng are probably average and Rose has the potential to be as good of a defender as any PG in the league. But at this point none of them are near Barnes. And I think Barnes should be relatively cheap. 3 years $10-12 million.

Again, still need a SG. Im not Redicks biggest fan but i hope they dont match his offer. I would then go after Brewer, try to find a taker for James Johnson and sign Brad Miller.
