I emailed KC about what Tyrus future with the team was after their draft tonight and he said they like to trade him, but he doesn't have any value around the league

shocked. No one is looking for a guy who plays with high energy 30% of the game with a low IQ?

Well, yeah. Tyrus is obviously toast. While I doubt he has "value," I'm pretty sure plenty of teams would take him on in a lateral move, gives his age, reasonable salary and athleticism.

So I guess we better hope either he finally figures it out, that James Johnson is a beast, or that we can still somehow pull off a trade for Amar'e or Bosh.

We can probably get Tyson Chandler in exchange for Thomas and either Jerome James or Tim Thomas, fwiw.

If Tyrus has no value then I am fine with keeping him for the first half of the season and seeing what we can do at the trade deadline. Maybe his value goes up a bit by then or maybe he turns a corner and becomes a great player, either way its not that much of a risk to wait since it seems like his value is down right now.

Was this KC Johnson's opinion or insider info? Sounds like his opinion based off what the Bulls did in the draft. We really didn't have a backup PF behind Tyrus so it looks like we added 2 guys to give us options off the bench.

I doubt we'd want to do that, but I agree, it seems likely that we could.

Even if the coaching staff and management believe that Tyrus will be a player... with Noah being a great fit at C and Deng being our probable long term solution at SF... we have to get solid every night point production out of the PF position and quite simply... Tyrus was never drafted to do that and he doesn't have the skill set to do that.

Tyrus is just a bad fit with the current starting personnel on this team. I'll still follow his career but his time in Chicago is probably near the end.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
You know what's going to happen? We're going to trade Tyrus and be ecstatic, then he's going to be a beast and whatever we get is going to suck. Then we're all going to be like "why did we ever trade Tyrus?!?" That's just the way things go sometimes (a lot of times) in Chicago :p

I think Tyrus will hit his stride somewhere around age 24/25(2-3 years) but he's just not a good fit in Chicago with the emergence of Noah and the long term contract of a SF who can't get his own shot. If we had a dynamic SF or a low post threat at C sure, but we don't.

No actually im not pissed at all ive learned to deal with Tyrus trade rumors by now,Im not sure that KC has heard that Ty will be moved he probally was just reacting by the two draft picks we took. But Gar himself has said they project James Johnson as a 3 so i dont think that would effect Tyrus all that much and as far as Taj goes he will probally be a role player for his career and dont think he can knock Tyrus off this team.Wasnt Gar the one who was really pushing for us to take Tyrus in that draft ?They knew as well as we did when Ty was drafted he was a project and he has gotten better every year .I think alot of people (fans) have a what have you done for me lately attitude and since Tyrus didnt have the greatest playoff series against boston they are now down on him .Imo the Bulls brass cant think like that nor do they .Tyrus himself via twiiter has said he must get smarter on the court to reach his goals ,he also said he dosent feel like he has to gain weight and when asked what postion he considers himself he said a basketball player like Lamar Odom..Being a huge supporter of him thats not the greatest thing to hear as far as the weight goes but i love the fact he knows he has to be smarter in basketball situations and tahts what he plans on working on..
