If you get Comcast for internet keep an eye on them as they are always trying to increase rates.

Comcast just increased my monthly for "internet only" by $40/mo for 150 mpbs. I was able to get them to give me the promotional rate for new customers for 12 months at $40/mo less than what they were trying to bill me. That's $500 a year if someone isnt paying attention, bitches

Sometimes you have no good competition, and have to deal with Comcast.

I was able to get my bill down to $159/mo from $229/mo without even threatening to cancel or removing/downgrading services.

Once your 12 or 24 month promo period is over, they start charging you retail pricing and just wait for you to figure it out and call.

There are other options but I play wgt and like the highest speed.

AT&T does this as well. Call and ask for promotional rate.

Wide Open West, in this area, and if you can get it, has been by far and away the best customer focused ISP with speeds worth a damn. They might not rush to your house and fix aging components or water in the wires as fast as the big 4, but they will compensate and pretty much haven't heard any throttle issues for those who torrent legitimately(little held perception, makes up the bulk of torrent transfers), or piracy.

It will all be over the airwaves before you know it. 5g from Verizon and soon followed by the rest of the major carriers is going to mess up some of these cable companies.
