I am not part of the Herd (history nerds), but those were very interesting. Thanks for posting. I can see why the South lost buying a ship from France.

You can be an honorary member of the herd. As you can imagine we don't have contact with a lot of girls. Apparently our history knowledge is not an aphrodisiac.



Those pictures are really cool. Even though some of them were staged for the photographers. Who move bodies around for better shots.

Thanks for sharing. That is incredible. My great great great grandfather, who emmigrated from Germany just prior to the war, was a Union soldier in St. Louis. He served with the 'Turner Rifle Brigade', but I don't have record of him actually fighting anywhere. His records indicate that he was sick and in the hospital for many months not long after hostilities began in Missouri.
