Since he basically told the Cubs to pay him what they could it would be real bad form if the Cubs then traded him away. Wood isn't the usual case since he has basically said that money isn't an issue for him and wants to stay in Chicago. If it was anyone else that was in this situation, I would be looking to trade him right now, but I am hoping that hte Cubs keep him around as a mentor for Cashner and other young pitchers til he is done.
