He's not back with the Cubs next year. He better be back and I have no question in my mind that he will be back in '12 and beyond.

He'll finish his career with the Cubs and I like hearing that. Class act by a good pitcher and guy. One who doesn't care about money and cares about family, place where he plays and charity. KERRY WOOD!

Thoughts?

Depends on the new GM. If Wood signs a contract for around what he made this year it's reasonable. Otherwise I don't think he's good enough to justify a signing. And he probably knows that.

Wood just has one bad stretch and that was right when he came back from DL. He's been pitching great and he better be back, the bullpen is much stronger with him in it.

I hope he stays. He has always been one of my favorite Cubs.

DewsSox79: Wood again shows that he doesn't care about winning.

:shifty:

I think Wood made this (retiring or staying as only options) clear a long time ago though...

It would be ridiculous to not bring him back.

I don't really see a reason to not bring Wood back... unless he's asking for a ridiculous amount of cash. Remember, he gave the team a big time discount this winter in order to return to the team and show he's still capable of pitching. He's done that, and his price will no doubt go up.
