KG's lying about Charlie V

Isn't Charlie one of the leagues stand-up guys on top of that?

There is NO way Garnett would just randomly walk up to him and try to get under his skin by pointing out he's cancerous to the NBA and to his team.

The sad thing is, if we were to go back about 20 years or so and were to hear EVERYTHING guys like Laimbeer and Rodman said on court during games, I bet it would make this situation seem as nothing, as bad as it is.

Funny thing is though, the way he's been acting the past few years, GARNETT is the one who is cancerous to the league.

I don't think anybody is really cancerous to the league, nobody really plays with seriously malicious intent. That is what I consider cancerous.

Also KG is lying. There is no professional athlete that is going to trash talk by saying "hey man, excuse me, but I think you're cancerous to your team and to the league"

KG called him a cancer patient, it got out, and now he doesn't want the backlash from the media about it. KG :slap:

I don't blame him for saying it. I thought it was funny and think he's more of a punk for denying that he said, then saying it in the first place.

Are you really going to compare a class act like Charlie Villanueva to Reggie Miller, one of the most notorious trash-talking punks to ever play in the league?

Rush is right. There was no reason for Garnett to say Villanueva is a cancer to the league and to his clubhouse. Saying he was a cancer patient is what would get under his skin, as clearly it did.

Why do I feel this way about Garnett?

Let's see all the clips of Charlie Villanueva cheap-shotting and elbowing guys in the throat because they scored on him.

KG is a dirty player. And he probably called Villanueva a cancer patient. But FT is right that we cannot prove that KG didn't just say CV was a cancer to his team and the league... because, in a sense, he would be right. I think it was a nice fine block by Garnett nonetheless (lying or not lying).

Overall, I don't think it's that big of a deal, and people are being overly sensitive about it. KG is a jerk... but we all already knew that.

I've had conversations of trash talk up and down the court with players multiple times in multiple games. Ranging from the typical two word talk to bringing up and ripping on "big wins" they had a few weeks ago.(Tame version)

The league is full of punk asses. I'm not saying KG isn't. All I'm saying is that if he played for the Bulls noone on this board would care if he got in a fight with Zaza.

I have a very, very hard time believing that Garnett said what was in that press release. I also have a very hard time believing that at this point in Charlie V's career, he would just start lying on opposing players and their insults to him. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Based on the stuff I have seen Garnett do over the years, I have no doubt that he is capable of saying what he was accused of saying. He was probably unaware that Charlie V. has a disease...but I believe Garnett said it.

I have been told about worst things said by players. That doesn't lessen the amount of insensitivity Garnett showed if the statements were said.
