from CSN Chicago:

Paul Konerko reiterated Sunday that he's still unsure whether he'll retire after the 2013 season.

Konerko admitted that last year was difficult from an injury standpoint, but hasn't ruled out playing beyond his contract with the White Sox. "Setting a finish line, I'm not a big believer in that, because you always have a tendency to let up," the soon-to-be 37-year-old said. "It’s something that will be talked about after the season, regardless of how it goes. I’ll address it when the time comes."

I really, really, want him to get to 500. But, if he doesn't feel he can do it, then I'd understand.

If he retires, how many seasons until his number is retired and a statue? I'd say 3-5.

Great question. Number? I'd go fast and say one. Statue though. At least five plus.

I saw this thread and it read "Konerko Retiring After 2013" and I felt tears come to my eyes. That does it, he is NEVER retiring

He's good, not Frank or Harold or Fisk good for me from the emotional tie point, but I feel ya.

It would be difficult but doable. Pauly is at 422 now, entering his age 37 season. Even if you think he can get 20+ HR it'd still take him at least three or four seasons to get to 500, and that's assuming he gets to 20+ in his age 38, 39, 40 etc seasons. It'd be tough. But if he can get on a hot streak he might be able to shave some time off.
