That was good for them. They need to move on and not hold grudges. It's unhealthy to do that, especially with all the success they had together.

I agree with ^ but I bet they probably resent each other a bit still.

at the behest of Tex Winter, who can no longer speak. He wanted to see those guys shake hands...and they did out of mutual respect for Winter.

I thought that was a great, unselfish gesture by all 3 men

Reunited: Phil Jackson and Jerry Krause have common cause - chicagotribune.com

Winter wants Krause, Jackson to make up - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Golly, if Krause and Jackson can shake hands, why can't Hue and SP94 shake hands?????????After all we've been through together for this common cause to post our lives away and sell our soul to Rush..:date:

When Rush is 90 years old and going to the ChiCitySports HOF and he has a wish articulated by Rush Jr. that we shake hands...sure...until then...

Oh thank you so much...I wish I could go to sleep and not wake up until that special day.

I think Jerry Krause is going in next...that will piss on a lot of parades, but he deserves it. Just my feelings.

OK, I'm a little unaware, Jerry Krause put the Bulls team's of the 90's together right?

Why exactly is he hated so much besides the fact that the team "broke up."

He'll pick Phil Jackson to welcome him in :smug2:

And this is the LAST reason I started the thread...I wanted to discuss what was a rather important moment in Bulls history...people changed the subject and make it more juvenile, then the basketball Special person shows up saying absolutely nothing...

damn shame...

Jordan and Pippen didn't like him...Jackson, whom he pretty much discovered fell out with him, and eventually used Jordan and Pippen as an alliance against Krause. I think others should give their opinions on the matter because I feel different from most.

Most don't think Krause deserves to go to the HOF or have his banner retired because he dared to anger Jordan and Pippen (how dare he!). I say his contributions are what he should be acknowledged for and the Bulls don't win titles without Krause.

I should have no problems getting amens from the Pippen fans on the forum since Krause is responsible for Pippen being in Chicago.

I would suggest you read some of the books on those Bulls teams also, starting with "The Jordan Rules" by Sam Smith. It tells a lot about what was going on behind the scenes with the Bulls.

i think you've seen with many other teams that having great players does not guarantee titles. whatever you wanna say about krause breaking up the team, which he did, but he managed to put the players and coaches around michael for six titles. if there was an incompetent gm, maybe jordan only wins one or so?

even though he made some stupid moves, he made the all time great moves with phil jackson and trading for pippen, and that kind of greatness that led to six titles should land him a spot in the hall.

that said i still don't like the man.

Understood, and while I believe opposite of what you believe about Krause breaking up the team, he utterly failed when trying to rebuild, and he ended up leaving after failing. But his contributions to those titles should be unquestioned. Two people went to the hall of fame yesterday that Krause brought to the team...Rodman and Winter...both still respect the man.

People have to understand, Krause FORCED Winter on people...lol. Coaches prior to Jackson resisted the triangle, and for that matter, resisted Jackson. Nobody wanted to hire him but Krause. He brought him in for interviews on several occasions. The first time was just talked about yesterday by David Kaplan, when Jackson showed up in torn jeans and flip flops, Krause sent him home and had him come back a year later with a suit and tie, and Jackson was hired.

I think the reason most Bulls fans hate Krause was because of the whole breakup thing and then his utter failure to rebuild the team. 99-2003 were some terrible terrible years for Bulls fans. In some ways, lucky me that I became a true Bulls fan when Paxson took over, lest I have the mispleasure of watching Dragon Tarlac and co.

That being said, you cannot deny Krause his due for drafting the guys he did, making the moves for Kerr, Rodman, and others, and hiring Winter and Jackson. Those were some fantastic moves. It brought Chicago 6 titles, and while his ego probably wanted more recognition for it, he does deserve his share of glory for those titles.

Why? Are you trying to track me down or something?
Honestly, thank god I didn't ask the question why they had so much ''hate'' about each other and the reason why they shake hands (well obviously when that happens you can tell their is some sort of story behind it).

Thanks for clearing it up for me though, and its a good thing that they decided to shake hands. You wouldn't want that situation of hate haunting you after retirement or anything like that.

I can say that there are two opinions on subjects like this prevalent on this forum. The way I feel (They all were culpable...Jordan, Jackson, Pippen, Krause, etc.) and the other way of looking at each, which I found childish (Its all Krause's fault). I hope the younger generation of Bulls fans get the truth and are more impartial. The truth is out there, you just have to dig and accept what you find. I was no longer jaded after reading the Jordan Rules. It changed my perspective on Jordan totally.

Yet I am sure people believe that book, amongst others couldn't have been true, because Sam Smith wrote it and it was negative towards Jordan and others...

Jerry Krause does deserve the hall of fame...He is the one that put those championships together...Plus most importantly, he traded Oden Polynice for pippen during the 87 draft and Wiil perdue for RODMAN....on that alone, I put the guy in the hall of fame.....

He was nicknamed "CRUMBS"....just a fun fact for all of you....

Hue should be nicknamed crumbs as well, LoL
