Since this is Michael Jordan-related, I felt it was "new thread" appropriate.

Does anybody else find it hilarious that Kwame is going to be playing under Jordan again? Especially after all the negative publicity that came to each of them because of the failure of it all. Jordan reportedly once called Brown a 'flaming ******' once too. So that makes it all-the-more odd for the reunion in Charlotte...

Kwame was my hope for our final roster spot. I think he's a good value at the minimum, but I wonder if we're waiting a bit on the hopes of absorbing someone with the rest of our cap space who's better.

Do you really think that we need another big man on our roster?

I think we could have used Kwame. We have no real big men with size. Noah, Asik and Gibson don't have the girth to battle guys like shaq or howard. Kwame would have been a guy that you can through at one of those guys for 10 min to keep fouls down and give a different look. And at the minimum, what do you lose?

One of the weaknesses i see in Noah and Gibson is that they need to add more bulk. meaning, when noah match up against the strong C's in the nba they wont back him down as easy as they should. same goes for taj.

but yeah, i would of taken a chance on kwame for the min.

I agree, we are going to be a very good rebounding team during the year with guys like boozer, noah and deng but we are prone to getting pushed around a bit. Look back at Noah in the playoffs against the c's, as good as Noah was, perkins was better and pushed him around. Luckily, those types of guys are rarer these days but we don't really match up well against the celtics or magic in the playoffs.

yep, we were a good rebounding team last year already, and adding boozer makes us only more better at that category.

You are right, good thing there isnt that much true post C's in the nba, mostly all the c's now and days play like pf's but they are only stronger and bigger.

I do think noah is going to be improved strength wise because last year he said he would come into the season as being more in shape, and he did. this year hopefully he is bigger and stronger. :bullbang:

Hopefully but how many years did we wait for Tyson Chandler to bulk up? I think Noah will do better but in the near future, its going to make things difficult in the second round if we get the celtics or magic.

I am really excited about that. Rose, Deng, Boozer and Noah are all above average rebounders. I think we will be excellent on the boards and that will be a key strength for us. It will lead to a lot of breaks for Rose and Brewer. That will make us a really strong team, moreso than just adding a post presence.

the thing is, that TC wasn't really committed to bulking up and getting better as a player. Noah loves to win and has been a winner every where he has been, he knows now what he needs to do in order to succeed in the nba, bulking up, and do think it will happen.

Also i think he has a good chance in being a all star this season.

I doubt this for two reasons. One his rebounding stats will go down this year. I've been highly critical of Taj defensive rebounding. At the beginning of the season he was absolutely horrible at defensive rebounding thus causing Noah to have all those games were he was getting about 16 to 18 boards a game. With Boozer though his rebounding is definitely going to go down.

Secondly with Boozer now the offense will be run through him and Rose instead of last when it was Rose and Noah. His assist and points will go down. I still think Noah has a great season this year

I Agree to some degree.

but one thing is certain, we could definitely lead the nba in rebounds again.

what stats do you think noah will have to have to be a all star? last year he almost made it but injuries held him back.

Noah probably comes up in 3rd again. He's probably the 4th best center behind Howard, Bogut and Lopez. I think that the Nets will blow this year again though and it will hold back Lopez. Really there's nothing Noah can do to get into the All-Star game unless the Bucks start to suck

I also think Noah's shot an all-star game is almost none.

I think because he's extraordinarily likable and has a lot of on court emotion and positive mojo that Bulls fans have begun to overrate him by quite a bit.

I've been a huge fan of Noah for as long as I can remember, I was upset when he didn't come out in 2006 because I wanted to take him at #2.

All that said, he's not an elite defender as he gets abused by big bodied players still, and he's not someone who can generate his own offense. He's a good help (but not elite) help defender, a great teammate, good passer, elite rebounder, and great transition player in how he gets down the floor, but those pluses are all smaller things while he struggles at two of the primary things you'd grade players on.

I wouldn't say almost none. I really think it was a toss up last year between him and Al Hortford. Can you really tell me either is really better than the other. Especially before Noah's injury. If Boozer is out for a bit, I certainly think a healthy noah has a chance.

I don't know, he doesn't look any bigger than when he came into the league three years ago. He is better conditioned but isn't that kinda natural for a professional athlete? Don't tell me the shot put jumper has sold you. Noah is really the same player as when he came in.

A lot of people call him untouchable but I'd trade him and Deng for a real star in a heart beat.

That's because he put on most of his weight on his legs
