I caught the stuff tonight from the room and couldn't get past this thought after watching HORSE...

1. It's too bad we can't see those Celtics practices when they had Bird AND Pete Maravich on the same team. There were so many good shooters in those days they make almost anyone today look like cabinet makers.

2. I can see getting Kevin Durant but some of these guys are just random chumps. Why on EARTH isn't Dwight Howard or LeBron in this?

Dwight would win this thing because no one else, other than possibly James could make that stuff.

3. We need to ban shooting from behind the backboard, just like we need to ban free throw line dunks in the dunk contest (I literally cringe and shutter every time i see someone run back court and get ready to take off from the foul line...we've seen it a million times...stop).

Well the Dunk contest this year was definitely the worst I have ever seen.

Would be nice to see Howard, James, Kobe and Vince next year. Wonder if Kobe and Vince still can compete in a contest.

Dunk contest was definitely underwhelming. LeBron needs to get his butt in that contest next year. I want to see LeBron, Dwight, Nate, and someone else (not Shannon Brown or Gerald Wallace...what the heck were they thinking during that contest?). That would be exciting.

yeah the dunk contest is getting old. they should do something to spice it up, like a pit of vipers, or a circle of death... really anything. how bout they stop the unlimited attempts. you only get one chance to make it. if you suck, you suck. the pit of vipers might be a bit extreme, maybe we should use scorpions(not the animal, i meant the guy(s) from mortal kombat) .

HORSE competition needs to go. That was brutal. I turned on Wheel of Fortune instead.

And the Dunk contest was the lamest ever. Nate was holding back n I have no idea why. The skills challenge was the only decent event last night.

I think the reason the dunk contest sucked this year is that none of the guys competing except probably Nate and DeMar had any creativity. Shannon Brown had one attempt that looked like it would have been exciting (that 360 thing that he missed) but Gerald Wallace was simply awful (in dunk contest standards). When Dwight was in, at least there were some theatrics and things to get the crowd involved to make it seem more exciting. That Superman dunk was pretty sick too. More creativity, or at the very least more stage presence (I think that;s what Nate was trying to do with the cheerleaders and that Gatorade pouch thing) will make it more exciting.
