I heard DJs on 2 different radio stations bring this up this morning. First time I'd ever heard of the guy.

Lujack was part of the golden age of Disc Jockey's. Not my style but had a huge following. I was a huge Steve Dahl fan who invented bit comedy disc jokey. Howard Stern and Jonathan Brandmeier stole their whole routine from Dahl

I liked Dahl when he was with Gary Meyer(s). Once Gary left, I kinda lost interest. Together they were great. Alone...Not so much

Actually, Dahl was at his creative peek from 1977 to 1980, before Meier. During that period he was the only one in the world doing what he was doing

When Dahl broke onto the scene in 1977 in Chicago it was a one man show. Dahl did long comedy bits around discussions between himslef and up to 10 characters he created. Much like Brandmeier did with Jim Shorts, except it was for 4 hours every day. Dahl seemlessly moved between the personna of these 10 charachters. Incredibly funny and cutting edge.
