Lasik

I was thinking about getting LASIK for awhile and as of recently I think I'm gonna go for it. My insurance covers 15% which is nice, wasn't expecting any coverage since it's not necessary.

Has anyone gotten LASIK done? If so, how is it? any drawbacks?

I need to get it too but last I looked into it, it was $900 per eye. I don't think my insurance would cover. I need to save up and get it done

I had Lasik done 12 years ago. I was a little concerned due to possible issues. My wife's friends husband calls me the night before to detail the horendous issues he has had. But 99% have no problem.

My vision 20-400 before the surgery and 20-15 the next day. Over the past 12 years I beleive it has reverted to 20-25. If you are over 40 the first thing you will notice is that you can no longer read without reading glasses. Lasik can correct for only one condition so if you fix nearsightedness then you trade close vision.

For me, not having to wear contacts has been great. I can look at trees and see individual leaves a long distance away but cant read a business cart or the Tribune without reading glasses. Takes 15 minutes for the surgery and you go home, take a nap then back to work next day. Some of the surgeons are doing up to 10 operations a day

I would never recommend any procedure with even 1% risk. Better to explain your personal experience and leave it at that.

You recommend people to get banned. Is that the same thing?

Banning recommendations don't lead to catastrophic health problems, wise ass.

Maybe they should demote you to Half Mod and promote Urblock to full Mod?

Well, I hope no one makes major medical decisions based on recommendations from a random person.

Then why did you recommend it?

Which one are you?

Had it done 12+ years ago and love(d) it. I would definitely do it again. But as you age, depending on your correction, you still may need "cheaters" later in life. They can allegedly "tweek" that, too, though, or so I am told. I was tied to glasses for a lot of my life and I found it worth it.

I couldn't agree more. Goes a lot to my war against vaccines. Every single vaccine has killed many and left many more with life long ailments. Who then can say a parent should be forced to take that risk with their own child?

Join me, Ommy. Stand with me against the oppressive nature of government and stupid populists demanding all be vaccinated. They are merely fools bowing to their oppressors.
