This is kind of crazy, but follow me on this one.

What if the Government quickly passed a bill that allowed any long term employment contracts with values of $50 million or more signed between July 1st thru July 14th to be allowed to be tax free from income tax?

If a guy like Lebron means so much economically to a city, this would be nothing for the state to loose, and a perfect leverage chip against the Heat. Plus it might get the Bulls "ducks" in line faster, aka, Bosh/Wade/whomever.

I think we should all be contacting state government to get a bill like this passed today!

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
You do realize that it would take forever for government to pass anything, regardless of what it was, right? I guess I could be wrong, but from my understanding, it's just a long process.

It would take an hour so to write it up and then vote. Then Quinn autos it and it is law.

In reality, if Lebron is so valuable financially, the State of Ill should cover his salary. The returns would be HUGE for ILL

it's huge, but so very unethical. I agree in principle, but it would never happen.

I support this, but then again I'm not a taxpayer of ILL who would be footing the bill for it. ;)

I would quickly find a lawyer to from a class action suit. Getting Bron is nice but that is so very illegal.

Clearly ts discrimination at the least. Not to mention it would break the tax statues on file.

well, the law is never set in stone, but it seems as if we would be treating the lebron as if he's beyond the law.

What tax statue?

ok, let's change the suppose. When the Bulls go to the neutral site, bring Jesse White and say $20 million in cash. Jesse White says we are looking for an endorser of I-Pass and Click It or Ticket. Bring two or three business CEO's with contracts in hand for endorsement deals. This would separate the Bulls even further from the rest.

All the tax statues. You can't just exempt a person signing a contract and then continue that exemption for 5 yrs but for no one else. Particularly a multimillionaire.

Still a bit shady but doable. i think if Bron signs here there will be a line of endorsers waiting for him anyway. Money isn't going to separate us, the knicks or heat. I think Bron wants a legacy, he already has enough money to make sure his decedents will never be poor.

barkeley is still on Tv. i think people like him for his persona rather than his legend. he's kind of a caricature of himself. i mean the guy raced a 60 year old man. the push up contests.

Right but hBron has a big persona too which is what I was pointing out. Malone was happy to ride off into the sunset. Bron doesn't strike me that way.
