The SG position just hasn't been right since MJ retired. So I took it upon myself to write a letter and you welcome to copying and pasting the letter. Maybe the Bulls manangment will listen.

Dear Chicago Bulls Management,

My name is Blank and I’m a proud Bulls Fan. I’m really enjoying the season and how the Bulls have been playing this season despite all the injuries the Bulls have run into. One of the current issues of the Chicago Bulls is the shooting guard position. It feels like since Michael Jordan retired the position is cursed. I know you have scouts to watch players in college and internationally, but why don’t you sign a player from the D-League? I read that you guys don’t like signing players from the D-League. Their have been good players that have come out the D-League like Reggie Williams of the Warriors, Kelenna Azibuke of the New York Knicks, and Anthony Morrow of the New Jersey Nets. There are also players that have been drafted in the 2nd round of the NBA Draft and undrafted to have productive careers in the NBA like Stephen Jackson, Gilbert Arenas, Michael Redd, Raja Bell, Kelenna Azibuke, Wesley Matthew Jr., Jodie Meeks, Monta Ellis, Reggie Williams, Sonny Weems, Flip Murray, CJ Miles, Landry Fields, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Marquis Daniels, Rasual Butler, and Devin Brown. There are quality players in the D-League that can probably help out the Bulls at the SG position like Dar Tucker, Trey Johnson, Stephen Dennis, and Ryan Thompson who can all score inside and out with the ball, defend, and facilitate the ball like a point guards. Another guy that could help is De’sean Butler who is a free agent. I really don’t see the trouble of signing a D-League player. If I’m not mistaken your paying only a fraction or less on a D-League player than your paying a player you would draft with a 1st round pick and the contracts won’t effect on your salary cap. I have faith that you are scouting and looking at the best talent will help the Bulls make that ultimate push to win a championship, but I just wanted to say that you should give D-League players, 2nd Round Draft Picks, and Undrafted players a chance because you never know what you are missing out on. That’s all I wanted to share with you. Thank you for your time and I wish you the Bulls much success.

Sincerely,

Blank

Dar Tucker was fun to watch at DePaul. I would like to see the Bulls sign him.

I know if I was GM for an NBA team, I would welcome an e-mail campaign telling me who I should sign. I'm sure Gar/Pax hasn't even considered any of those guys. Thank you, idizzle, for bringing them to the attention of Bulls management!

I still think nabbing OJ Mayo would be a good idea. However, Chicago wouldn't want to pay the price to make a trade happen.

I really think that we still have a chance to obtain O.J. Mayo. From the looks of things, the Memphis grizzlies front office is asking for a lot in return. I heard that the Bulls have contacted the grizzlies already for O.J. Mayo. But they quickly turned down on trading him.

I don't know if you guys have read, but i read a article 2 days ago saying that they have put O.J. Mayo back on the block. I believe the asking price will go down as we near the trade deadline.

so I still think the chances of acquiring him are a possibility.

They would probably have to give up either one of their guards or Taj and a draft pick...I am thinking Taj and a draft pick for Mayo is something Memphis may ask for.

i could see the bulls giving up taj/ Bobcats pick and possibly James Johnson. one of the reasons why i think they sended him to the d league, to try and see if he gets his trade value up.

OJs probably on the block again because he got busted by the NBA with their drug policy, Dont know the exact details of it all but thats my guess. I dont see the Bulls getting him. I dont see them giving up Taj, not with Boozers health history and with Noah missing so many games the past couple seasons, even if one of the injuries is more of a freak accident.

These morons should have signed Wesley Matthews and Shannon Brown like i told them to in the off-season. We know GarPax reads the boards and all...

No team was gonna give Matthews the money Portland gave him and Shannon Brown would not solve the Bulls SG problems IMO.

A bit off-topic, but does anyone else think that the Trail Blazers signed Matthews to that deal knowing that Brandon Roy's knees were shot and they needed someone to replace him?

I dont think they knew Roys health would be this bad but im sure they had their concerns. Who knows what Wes would have gotten if the Bulls went after him early. Oh yeah and Morrow too. He's not a complete SG but the kid can ball and is still growing. I know his health has been shaky this year too.

i would disagree that the position is cursed. ben gordon and jamal crawford are obviously both above average shooting guards.
