Question for anyone so kind as to assist me.

I have been playing the above very old download directly from my computer, but it stills ties into their main server.

Is there a means to play without them knowing?

Said owner is a douchebag Montreal Canadian fan, who keeps re-setting my game intentionally via tracking my IP.

I realize I could change said IP, but that requires more effort than I am willing to do for a free game.

What the ****? He is targeting you because of your IP? You should find a sub on Reddit and post it there, if they can't help you at least maybe they will shame the guy appropriately.

Meh, not worth all the trouble...just want to play w/o them knowing.

Only way to track me is by IP, but don't feel like paying for a proxy type service that plays havoc w/my ghostery ad blocker.

I was gonna suggest Private Internet Access proxy.... I use it all the time.

This. Private Internet Access is incredible. I have been using it for a couple of years. I believe it's only 50$ a year.

Well PIA is just a proxy service, there are many like it.

I used to use Phantom Peer, but PIA is a much better deal for the price.

To get setup you register an account and pay and all that, then you install a desktop app that uses your registration info, and it gives you the option of connecting to a variety of different regional proxy servers, from USA Midwest, West, East, Canada all the way to proxy servers in Europe.

The benefit you gain is some level of anonymity in your internet usage.... most commonly people will run all their traffic through PIA when say torrenting stuff.... when connected to a proxy server all your requests or returns from the internet come through the proxy server through an encrypted connection and according to the PIA documentation they keep no logs on user activity so if they get copyright infringement notices they will require the people sending it to give them your name/address/phone number so they can serve it to you since they keep no logs on who did what through their proxy, then the people sending the infringement notice have no way of determining who or where you are so they cannot provide the necessary info for PIA to serve you with infringement notices and thus you are safe for the time being.

In Sunbiz' context if he used a PIA proxy his IP would appear to be that of the proxy server he was connecting through and so the asshole messing with him would not know when Sunbiz was playing his game and be able to **** with him.

PIA servers have always managed to give me 100% of my normal Download and Upload speeds.... 50-60Mbps down and 12Mbps up.

It took me maybe 5 minutes to sign up, pay for a month, install the desktop app, and connect to a proxy server.

I guess I just don't understand how the tech interface works is what I mean. Desktop app, so that means it only works on that computer? Can you set it up so that your router runs all your devices through it? I have probably at least 9 internet devices on my router at home, I'd want to run all internet traffic through it.

Ah, good question.... I believe you can configure home routers to run traffic through a proxy but I have never done it.

I only really need my laptop traffic running through the proxy so I just use the desktop app.
