In a collision with former Fire player Bakary Soumare in the 25th minute, Logan Pause suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Let me say that again. Logan Pause played 20 minutes with a collapsed lung. He's apparently going to be out 4-6 weeks.

If nothing else, this clears a bit of a logjam at midfield and allows more of an attacking mindset.

As much as I don't like Pause, I feel really bad about this... collapsed lung is a very serious matter, and playing 20 minutes after that... wow, don't know how he managed that and am glad they took him out before it was too late.

Hope for a full recovery, glad the timeframe isn't too long.

American Mass Media never portrays soccer the way it was meant to be... ESPN can't show a soccer play without laughing at nothing or commenting on FC Dallas's attendance.

I remember CSN on a slow sports day showed 3 soccer highlights and the guy was like "i think that's the most soccer highlights we've ever shown *chuckle*" but soccer is growing, it'll be great if it ever becomes big here

Chicago has been slower to catch on than some other markets like Seattle, LA, Portland, and Canada as a whole

yea I was surprised when one of my friends told me that the soccer scene was crazy in Portland, I was like "Portland? Hahaha alright dude" Then I saw a game and was really impressed. LA is because of Beckham though. I hope we can get a star player to come here at some point because the Fire really have a great stadium, and if they just get people to go to games, I think it'll grow

Good stadium, inconvenient location. But yes, I hope we can get a huge-name DP someday.

Don't forget Section 8 is absolutely the best fan experience in Chicago. At games I like to be loud and obnouxious but its tough when no one else will be, Section 8 gives everyone that opportunity

Lol, I love Section 8. A few people from here (tonyni and giaco) are in it too... you should go sit (or not, nobody really sits in S8) there.

Glad to hear you're interested in coming over and joining us. Section 8 Chicago handles the sales of our own tickets, so you can't get them through the Fire's site or ticketmaster. You can buy them on our website at section8chicago.com, or even easier, section8.ticketleap.com

There is no such thing as a "member" of section 8. We welcome anyone who is willing to come over and support the team and stand, jump, and sing for 90 minutes. Here's a direct link for tickets for this weekend's match: http://section8.ticketleap.com/chicago-fire-vsnew-england-revolution/dates/Aug-18-2012_at_0730PM Just make sure to get the section 8, and not section 80, unless you want to end up in the skyway sitting and doing nothing (not that they aren't great seats, because they are).

And we won't kick you out if you don't have a ticket for the section in particular (as long as you're not causing problems and are vocally supporting the Fire, anyways), but I can't guarantee guest services/monterrey won't try to check your ticket. They haven't been this year, I think, but I can't say for certain that they won't. It's also general admission seating, so you don't have to worry about stealing someone's "seat", but also remember it's an obstructed view, so there may be a flag or two-pole temporarily blocking your view from time to time. However, being general admission, it's not too hard to just move to another spot if it becomes a problem.

Are you goin to be at the game? I don't want to drag any of my friends who don't enjoy soccer along, but I don't want to be alone, so... could I sit with one of you people :shifty:

No, you cannot sit with me.

Because there's no sitting allowed. :p

Yep, I'll be there. Generally speaking, I'm somewhere near the drums. Not that you shouldn't try to drag your friends along... who knows, you may convert them. It's always a party in the section, who knows, they may enjoy it.
