Lou Williams, the Philadelphia 76ers’ sixth man and leading scorer, will opt out of the final year of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent at season’s end, Philly.com reports.

The Sixers would owe Williams $6.4 million next season if he decides not to opt out, the website notes. But, a source said, Williams has “indicated that he's not going to pick up his option. All indications are that he's going to opt out."

Sixers GM Rod Thorn, however, said, "He has not said what he will do, but we will react to that when the time comes."

I would love to have him, we need someone that can create shots for himself.

I'd like to have him except that he is a bad defender and 6'3'' Rose would need to guard NBA shooting guards.

Lol

No way we can afford him. The guy wants more than $6.4M. He can't be a starter here. So no way we give that money for a bench player.

I posted this in a new thread because there isn't a NBA news thread.

They were the team who lost on purpose to play against the Bulls instead of the Heat. Now I see that they are trying to get rid of all their players. Is it my idea or the 6ers are planning to tank next year?

He wants to be a full time starter so I doubt he comes here.
