I think he should have had it done after the Olympics. At least that way, he could have missed time next season (a lost season) instead of risking further damage due to the ligament not being repaired sooner.

I agree.....Deng should of done that this summer considering this season the Bulls will not be a contender anyway.......now, we have to deal with this shit next summer and he will probably miss a good portion of the first half of next season when Rose is back....more time without seeing the Bulls complete package.........Plus, now deng is at risk of further injury before surgery.........All because he wanted to play for that useless Olympic team that sucked.....

I completely understand why he wanted to be apart of the British team, and his reasons were good. But I still believe he should have gotten the surgery the day after the games ended (if not missed the entire Olympics).
