Why not. Peyton is an idiot savant when it comes to offenses. Learned under Tom Moore. When Virginia dies, he becomes the full owner. Bears will have continued success in the future.

He is always at Halas Hall during camp. Maybe he wants to fix the Bears.
If anything i could see him getting into consulting. Would be better than going down the Accorsi and Polian well again.

Poles won't do consulting. If he is going down with the ship, it will be on his terms.

Manning never needed an OC. He didn't need one when he was playing. He called all his plays.

No he didnt. Common misconception. Moore and Caldwell would give manny several play options and he would go to the line and decide which one based on the D. It more than simply getting a pass and a run and deciding which one bit he wasnt calling plays from scratch as many believe. Except for maybe no huddle or 2 minute offenses when QBs often times will have to call plays from their 2 minute offense.

Maybe he could marry Virginia, then is wouldn’t cost him anything

He does fit their requirements of:
  • nice guy (church-goer??)
  • won't ruffle any feathers - ever
  • doesn't swear or get angry (that anybody knows of)
  • can handle the media at podium (meaning - won't ever throw anybody under the bus? - or express accountability)
  • can probably answer any & all of their layup HC interview questions with flying colors. (who can't?)
  • can probably come up with some acronym system to woo them, given his clever commercials
  • never before been a HC

Meets never before seen requirements of:
  • is a winner
  • might actually be honest at the podium & to press
  • knows what he's doing
  • has experience & success being a leader of men

Obviously I'm joking. The points above, relating to their shitty hiring process however...🤷‍♂️

He'd cut Williams to draft Archie Jr.
