I understand the concern about safety, but find this over the top. Now people are forbidden from doing things because they seem a certain way. I was under the assumption that blood and donors were screened in the first place in order to guarantee safety.

That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Especially about *** men not being allowed to give blood. Last I checked a lot of straight people have aids too. With all the calls for blood donors you hear this is moronic and it is costing lives.

It's actually a line from a George Carlin bit. We think we are so civilized and evolved. We think because we aren't hunters and gathers or are living in caves or in tribes anymore that we behave "better". That we aren't ruled or driven by primitive thinking anymore. Not really the case at all. Too many examples of it to list. Ranging from topics ( such as in this case) sexuality to race, politics, religion, self identity, etc. where people seek to divide, to ostracize others. It doesn't have to be big major stories like say the fight for racial equality. We do it to each other every day, in the most subtle ways that we don't even blink when we see it happen or do it ourselves. It's the norm.

Once we collectively see everyone as ourselves and ourselves as everyone, that may change things. Once we see an injustice being done to some person or people (regardless of sexual orientation, race) that may not live in the same county, state or even continent as we are as an injustice to us all, that may change things as well. But we don't. We still live in tribes. We just wear pants now.

We still live in tribes.

Exactly and most of those tribes have a leader that tells everyone else how its gonna be. Oh, and I believe they are called religous congregations, not tribes.
