About $60 maybe?

I'm probably going to buy Beatles Rockband. I can get it for about $118 on Amazon for the kit, because I'm going to get a 50% coupon, so that's pretty cheap. That's probably the most I will spend on a video game anytime soon.

Well if he has $17,500 to drop on a NES game, I'd hope he's got enough paper to attract some sort of golddigger. Or atleast we know he could pay for it with out breaking his piggy bank.

As I've stated for years, there's no excuse for being a virgin, it's a matter of pursuit & persistance, & in some cases, lowering your standards.

Maybe he got a good deal because of the economy. Maybe it was valued at 35,000? It is a buyers market if you have the money. Whats that quote from Moneyball? "Take advantage of inefficiencies in the marketplace" or something?

Noticed this thread just now...a guy I work with put a serious addition on his house over the course of the last few years. Part of the reno was to add to the basement: he added an all concrete room to house his video game collection. It's worth well north of $150,000. From talking to him, I suspect that article (the link goes nowhere currently) is about the Nintendo game that was only released on a very limited basis in Japan, and only about 5 of the original boxes for the game exist, and 4 are in lousy shape, and the one in the auction was the best one known.
Apparently, the original boxes and instructions are what drives the value of these things up. I told him my mom used to take the boxes from new Atari games we got as kids, fold them flat, put the instruction books in them, and put them in a box. We had around 100 of them, and somewhere along the line they got tossed. Guy said that they would be worth thousands now, especially if the games were obscure.
Guy isn't some incel, either....funny, smart dude, married to a woman where he kicked way outside his coverage and has a couple of kids he's really involved with.

At the very least, he could afford to buy a hooker.

Or tithing to a cause that cures children of cancer because suffering of our brothers is very real even though God has nothing to do with it beyond giving us a chance and experiencing the molecular data our little shit making bodies and mostly pathetic minds create.

I hate-listened to Oral Roberts live on the radio hallucinating a 900-foot Jesus in Tulsa in the '80s and asking for money to do... what? Summon Voltron and defeat him? Summon Voltron to hug him?

Oral probably raised more that day than most of today's GoFundMe's for teen Moms.

Before you accuse me of being an evangelical, my family had already been condemned in Oklahoma for being Catholics from Chicago who chose to move to God's country.
