I think he's doing great. He's not victim blaming. He's trying raise awareness and he's doing a good job of telling people that there's more to every story and not to rush to judgment. All reasonable things to say.

I will say this, the dude is one of the most charismatic people on the planet - not only his style/swagger/image, but also in the way he speaks. If he wants to, he can have a LONG career in broadcasting post football.

Well my oldest sister and her husband are both dentists and they don't charge outrageous rates but they have told me about just how shady people can be in their industry. Its certainly car-dealershipesque in how they try to up-sell you into using more expensive materials or options.

Not all of course, it's never 100%. However, a huge majority of dentists are not honest at all.

Basically to summarize what he beat around the bush trying to say.

He was married to an abusive gold digger. She attacked him. He attacked her. He was wrong to do it. Now 6 years later ambulance chasing vermin like Alred are coming out of the woodwork trying to exploit the publicity of the ray rice/AP case to get their name in the headlines by bringing up long settled and atoned for sins to make yet another buck. ESPN played the same game for ratings. He also doesn't like the culture of taking a mere accusation as proof of guilt to be immediately punished regardless of the circumstances.

Basically the Ray Rice/AP story started to die down and the ratings started to dip, so the ESPN/NOW/Alreds of the world are desperate to keep the topic going so they are dredging up years old cases and dragging families dealing with tough emotional issues through the mud again, cynically, to keep selling papers.

Any time a corrective-based industry is run as a for-profit business, you're going to get scammers, because they're going to tell you that you need more work done than you really do. That includes dentists as well as doctors and car mechanics. Yet another reason for a single payer health care system.

Also, I really fucking hate how so many idiots defend bad guys doing bad things just because they're Bears players.

That was a lot of rambling but I don't think it was bad PR. ESPN should be called out on lying to him and making it about his past issues in order to boost ratings. He said they did it to him 3 times now and he didn't defend himself the other times so he felt like he finally needed to speak up. If he didn't say anything they would continue to pull this shit with him and other athletes without telling all sides of the story.

She's not trying to get any money, this is not a civil case, there's no money invovled. It's about going after the league for ignoring a complaint from one of Marshall's victims.

Brandon should not have addressed these issues publicly. They, Phil, Mark, Jay, somebody should have stopped him.

Think about what he said. Yes, he took blame for beating his gf, but he also placed a lot of onus on her. Right or wrong, the court of public opinion won't care. He brought up numerous times how just because he's a famous athlete he can get accused of of a lot things by women. Whether that's true or not, it doesn't matter. It looks bad.

I said in a previous post, he's not at risk for any kind of suspension or anything, he's been clean for years. But I do think we'll see an apology from him soon enough. Look, this is my opinion, and I may be dead wrong. But I'm in the camp that thinks this went badly. Very badly.
