This is the kind of fanboy-like defense of beloved sports figures I'm talking about. Why do you hold them in such high regard? We're talking about a guy who habitually abused women, and is now called a hero for not doing so anymore. **** that.

Almost seems like you're doing the same with B & B, no?

I'm talking specifically about issues involving women.

That's not what you initially said......

I do not condone finding someone guilty based on an accusation. If any person Bear player or not is guilty they should pay. I doubt the vast majority of people on here would say otherwise.

The last instance I remember was when Marshall was traded to the Bears. Marshall was cleared of charges and people were blaming the woman. In reality it was correct Marshall was innocent. In fact some people here blamed Marshall for simply being there.

Anyone else see these tweets from Mike Wright?

Why let the facts get in the way of a good B and B ramble.......Bernstein had Marshall stabbing his girlfriend.

REALLY? I just got this text message on my phone from 670 the score

WTF?!

I listened to the whole thing and didn't get that.

Agreed. As did I. Brandon acknowledged past transgressions, he talked about the fact that many women in his family were victims of it (suggesting generational or cultural patterns), talked about how he was a broken person and has a changed heart and talked about how ESPN misrepresented facts. He also talked about his case is 7 years old and was right in saying that the information was all public and the media was in effect lazy. He handed out packets of it - police reports, judge and officer testimony, etc. He talked about the fact that this is a problem not just in the NFL but in society as a hold. He talked about how people should treat each other better in general. He talked about how people should not be judge and jury and let the process take its course.

ALL of that is reasonable and fair.

I literally have no idea what press conference B&B were listening to. Again, they went into with a pre-defined narrative and that's all they heard. Disgusting.

Ah yes. Marshall's excuse for being a woman-bashing POS.

This kind of attitude is why the mental health discussion needs to continue.

Reports from the Jonathan Dwyer mess indicate that he'd had suicidal thoughts and was expressing these thoughts in messages. You think that guy's in a proper mental state?

This does not excuse his actions. But if there's something psychologically wrong with a person, a psychological ailment that causes sudden and violent mood swings, shouldn't that be explored?

Obama 'evolved' on his position on *** marriage (which is good to you) - is not possible for people (with a mental illness) to evolve as well?

Who is calling him a hero? On the contrary, he's bringing attention to it and trying to help a bit. What would you like him to do? Retroactively put himself in prison?

You can be cynical all you want, but the fact remains that this isn't a civil casse, and there's no money to be had. They want to expose the league as ignoring the pleas of victims. This is about the culture of "profit over everything" that seems to have reached a climax in the NFL under Goodell's watch.

I'm being cynical thinking Allred want's a payday down the road? I never though of you as being naive. She will eventually want money from somebody, probably the NFL.

This other fanboy defending wife beating "heros" shit. I've never done it. I've never seen it here. If it has happened a link or quote would settle the issue.
