Nope, not much. 600k difference on this move....but Taffe is a fringe NHLer...whereas Reasoner was a NHLer.

He's 50+ point guy in the AHL. I'll take him down here if he doesn't make the Hawks for sure. THat should also really improve Jake Dowell's chances of making the team, which i'm all about.

Dowell should be a nice addition to the Hawks.

Taffe I just have a hunch he will be on the Hawks come opening day.

Our bottom six forwards will definately be 90% rockford guys now that reasoner is gone.

The thing i like about Taffe is that he has some NHL experience, so we didnt just unload a vet for AHL guys again, we got someone we can use immediately this year. (Oh boy, sounding like joehawks now )

Oh, Taffe makes 600k less than Reasoner, so thats how much we saved

I can see him starting the year wit hthe Hawks just as roster filler, not going to be a major contributor. I liked Reasoner more for sure but we save a little but of money at least. Taffe is a pretty tough guy from what I've heard.

sorry, when i say fringe, i mean that they wont play everyday, only when needed to for injuries or off days for our main guys
