...give me a boner. Please let him fall to #10.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
This guy absolutely buttfucked Alabama in 2023, he's the guy the blew up the goal line play to win the game. I didn't watch Michigan much this year because I found watching paint dry a lot more fascinating but he's a beast.Excellent college player, I don't think he is a game changer in the NFL. He doesn't dominate the same way in one on ones against elite guards. Watch the OSU game for example....
I think he is a notch below being a blue chip player, great motor and good enough size. I think he is a mid to late first not top 5 or top 10 talent. This guy absolutely buttfucked Alabama in 2023, he's the guy the blew up the goal line play to win the game. Define a Top-10 talent for us and tell us why he doesn't fit the bill?I think he is a notch below being a blue chip player, great motor and good enough size. I think he is a mid to late first not top 5 or top 10 talent.
In the last decade only four DT's have gone in the top 10: Jalen Carter, Quinnen Williams, Ed Oliver, and Derrick Brown. Only Quinnen was top 5.Define a Top-10 talent for us and tell us why he doesn't fit the bill?
DT is an odd one. I'd not quite equate it to guard cause the best ones are all 1st and 2nd round picks. I feel like no position has fewer exceptions. Donald, Jones, Jalen Carter, DeForest, Cameron Heyward, Vita Vea, Dexter Lawrence, Leonard Williams, Quinnen Williams, Derrick Brown, Jefferey Simmons. Essentially the only guy I may say is an outlier as a top guy is Kobie Turner, and he was a 3rd rounder. Maybe I missed someone, but DT is very very 1st round heavy if you look at the best in the league. Guard has a very healthy amount of top guys taken in the 3rd or later. In the last decade only four DT's have gone in the top 10: Jalen Carter, Quinnen Williams, Ed Oliver, and Derrick Brown. That alone should tell you that DT's are like the offensive guard position when it comes to positional value, so when you ask what a top 10 talent looks like... It looks like a DE, WR, QB, CB, or OT.
Since the Bears need DE, OT, and OG more than DT... Mason Graham doesn't look like a top 10 pick for this team. Especially in a draft loaded with good DTs.
Quinnen Williams had 8 sacks and 20 TFL and was a top 5 pick as he should have been. Mason Graham had 3.5 sacks and 7 TFL. I think I would take him at 10 if Banks and Campbell are gone (and Abdul Carter, but he’s going to be long gone.)Quinnen Williams had 8 sacks and 20 TFL and was a top 5 pick as he should have been. To claim he will be long gone before number 10 and the Bears should definitely take him there while they have other glaring needs, is hyperbole.
I'm taking Simmons at 10, probably even if Campbell and Banks are there (unless the med report says otherwise) after that give me Mike Green, James Pearce, or Mykel Williams (unless Myles Garrett of course)...I think I would take him at 10 if Banks and Campbell are gone (and Abdul Carter, but he’s going to be long gone.)
I think I’m over picking injured players after our recent luck with them.I'm taking Simmons at 10, probably even if Campbell and Banks are there (unless the med report says otherwise) after that give me Mike Green, James Pearce, or Mykel Williams (unless Myles Garrett of course)...
And then after that I trade down to the teens, get more picks and see what OG or DT is waiting there![]()
You're taking an injured player at 10 for a team that needs immediate help on the OL?? Like who Teven? It wasn't even reported that he had back issues, and that's definitely a different can of worms than a acl recovery is for a LT.I think I’m over picking injured players after our recent luck with them.
Yes genius, because the draft and free agency aren't over after round 1. Braxton Jones will be fine until he makes a full recovery. You're taking an injured player at 10 for a team that needs immediate help on the OL?? Genius

The Bears have one starting quality DT healthy so it's pretty arrogant to say they don't have a big need at DT.
Pickens is worthless and Billings is coming back from a mid season torn pec. Even if Billings is healthy you still need 4 quality defensive tackles minimally for depth and rotation pieces.
Basically your argument doesn't pass the sniff test. But thanks for trying.
