Rudy Fernandez is more likely at this point. He's not going to be in Portland, the Blazers are just being stubborn and waiting til right before training camp to see if they can get a better offer.

The Nets offer is better than anything we can offer.

But why would he go there? They'd trade 2 out of 3 good pieces they have for him plus picks. If Melo wants NJ, he should just wait out the year. Brook Lopez and Melo aren't going to be that great. But Melo, Lopez, Harris and Favors has the making of a good team.

I reiterate, if all thats holding us back from Melo is letting go of Noah, we got to do it.

lol...well duh Melo, Lopez, Harris, and Favors would be a good team..just like Noah, Boozer, Melo, Rose would make the Bulls a great team.

Lopez and Melo would still be a great starter set. They would need to acquire a PG somewhere along the way. They'd still be a good team. New Jersey would already have an almost All-Star center (necessary to win a championship in my opinion) and they would have an All-Star wing player (2nd needed asset unless you have an top 5 PG). Get another good player on the team and they are contenders. There's alot of what if's with them...but they'd be quite a young team.

Why Melo would want to go there though..I dont know...

the thing is, Melo is going to want a new contract before then, because the new CBA will likely really limit what he can make.

I know. But I wouldn't do Harris, Favors and picks for Melo. They have max cap space and will get someone next year in fa or trade. No need to gut the team. I think they are going to surprise this year. I really like what they did in the offseason. Favors is high potential. Harris and Lopez are capable of being all stars and they are sourounded by shooters at every other postion. They are a sleeper now.

Lol, they can realistically pull it off. We can't. They got cap room, contracts and picks. We got late 1sts and deng.

Its a good starter set but its really going two steps forward and one back. Harris is on a great deal and has been an allstar, Favors is a dynamic pf #3 pick. Noah is a good center but no allstar and wants a near max deal meanwhile Deng is already a bloated contract with injury problems.

The Nets would have to offer Favors, Harris, 2 1st round picks....and I think that would be stupid of the Nets.

The Bulls already said they will offer Deng, Taj, JJ and 2 1st. And, Melo will sign with them. I don't think the Bulls will get Melo when the seaosn starts and I don't think he will be dealt. The Nuggets will want to get something for him and not just lose him to FA...that's why I think the Nuggets will accept the Bulls offer. While the Nets won't part with Favors.
