since it was brought up by one of the espnchicago writers i figured why not on here as well. should the bulls give phil a call and see what it would take? personally, i say hells yeah, but ive been a melo fan for quite some time. would seem to fit into what hoiberg would want to do on offense

Yes. Even a melo that might be a shell of his formerself is better than dunleavy at sf.

How much of the team would we need to trade away this time?

Can we trade Dunleavy, Gibson, Hinrich for him? If not, I'm not interested in that contract.

(also I know its not possible to trade those 3 for Melo because salaries would not match).

I can't express my opinion on the matter without a gif of someone doing it better. Since I couldn't find one that came close, I'll just use this one.

:office:

I think Melo is the new Tmac, as far as quiet fan demand for some broken superstar.

Melo is that slightly stuck up girl you persistently try to charm for a date that smiles back, but isn't really interested in you until she is in total desperation mode. She knows you are interested, understands that you might give her a better situation than the guys that treat her like shit, but nothing changes, she only enjoys the attention you give her and wants to play diva elsewhere.

that part doesn't worry me at all...salary cap is about to boom, wont hurt as much then. i doubt we have the pieces to interest the knicks though honestly

if Melo is not damaged goods and Noah is done then maybe i entertain Noah/Hinrich/scraps but thats about it

its a part of me that wants to be petty and say the classic "you don't get your cake and eat it too"

he had his chance to come to the Bulls and he chose to return to a team that he knew wasn't shit and there was a great chance that it was gonna be that way for the foreseeable future...as far as im concerned hes made his bed

God, T-Mac in his prime was clearly better than Melo in his. Melo is a one-dimensional player, while T-Mac was also a great scorer (and a smarter scorer imo), a facilitator, and a well above average defensive player.

I'd still take Melo on the Bulls, but as a PF. I'd package Noah and Taj for him. As a SF, he really slows down the offensive pace with his constant iso-mode. As a PF, he stretches the defense and can easily outrun the man assigned to him down the floor.

I doubt that Jackson would do any deal for Noah and Gibson. Both are coming off significant injuries and their best games are behind them. I think it would take Mirotic and something else cap wise to make a deal for Melo and I would hope that the Stupid Gar/Pax won't do it.

TBH melo would be a salary dump. I dont know why they would expect good players in return?

I don't think that it works that way in the NBA, right? Don't you have to have matching salaries?

Yeah. they would want expirings.

the players mentioned could be used to acquire expiring so its a nonfactor.

is why you see frequent 3 team NBA trades

The point I am trying to make is that he bulls dont need to give up young pieces. The knicks just want to dump melo. Not get value in return.

Jackson might go for Gibson, the Sacramento pick along with our own pick, Snell, and Hinrich? They need to get a lot better defensively more than anything else.
