DFA'd by Boston. HSC (even though I hate that site) says that Cubs are planning on claiming on him waivers or trading for him in a potential Byrd trade. I believe this because BN reported ages ago that the Cubs were interested, even under Hendry.

Additionally, I am facebook friends with him and his uncle is on my parent's bowling team.

BN was posting this idea earlier which is why it has some credence in my eyes. Could be an interesting option though I am not sure they trade Byrd at this point and or Boston is interested in him at this point.
