Mid season top 50 is out for baseball prospectus.

15. Albert Almora

17. Javier Baez

31. Jorge Soler

Kris Bryant would have been in the top 25 if he would have been signed by now.

Another list was released by bullpen banter

16. Almora

18. Soler

19. Baez

26. Bryant

They included him even though he hasnt signed yet.

Thought? I dont agree with Almora being over Baez or Soler. He has played for a short time this season. He has walked at small clip. Has not stolen bases well and his BAPIP is really high. Dont get me wrong. Almora is the safest prospect we have, but to me Baez is the clear cut 1. Another note said, Baez could struggle once he gets to AA. Well, let him get there then make that judgement. Just my opinion

It depends on what the viewer believes to hold more value.

Baez is explosive but he has a high swing and miss rate and has pumped out a high error rate at a D premium spot.

Almora has a high contact rate and solid D at a premium spot. Power and speed are lacking.

They way I look at it: Who cares.

Neither are with in 1-2 year from the team and what they are ranking right now matters little. Shoot B.Jaxx was looking pretty damn good in A+ until he fell to earth.

Even then what roles would they project into:

Almora #2 hitter. Good contact rate.
Baez #3-5 hitter. explosive HR power.

They fit their potential roles.

The lower ranking for Baez I believe is in his errors. SS have to be better then that. If he got moved to a lower D need spot his ranking would go up to his power potential.

Soler IMO is a well rounded player. Good across the board. But doesn't seem to have that super star impact that Baez brings.
