For those of you who are not aware of the goaltending going on in Rockford as of late;

Alex Salak is making $600K to ride the pine.

Alec Richards started the season with the IceHogs.

A call up from the ECHL is making all the news. Carter Hutton in his last six games is now 5-1-0-0 with a total of 8 goals during that stretch. He is making quite the statement for Rockford right now and has not allowed more then two goals in any of those games and the Hogs are on a four game win streak.

FYI Salak is injured and has been. Dent said he could be ready this weekend.

LOL... did I know that? And a baby to start the season...

It was an overview without specifics as to why but more to acknowledge a positive for our future goaltending. Injuries or not, I am still impressed that a callup from the ECHL is the one making a major impact.

Ohh, and I bet if even ready that Salak will not get a start until Hutton cools off or at the very least, the coaches think he needs a rest. Carter has been a shining light for any otherwise disappointing season so far.

Thanks for the update IHF. I don't get to follow them as closely as I'd like.

I didn't know if you knew it or not. That's why I said that. He's not riding the pine, he's hurt. Which is why you have Hutton from the ECHL. I think Dent will try to get Salak back in there but always nice to see a kid play well. I made the comment they should bring him to Chicago after Crawfrods excellent save from the Center line the other night.

I've been listening to the Hogs game lately on the radio. For those that don't know you can catch the radio broadcast direct off the Hogs main site. Last night sounded like a good game with Milwaukee. Had to laugh at hearing Stortini's name!!

When Salak got hurt, I was told to "watch the kid". Sounds like he's blowing the expectations out of the water!

He was VERY GOOD against the best team in the AHL the night we were there for Skate. Lost 2-1, because of a perfectly good goal Koharski disallowed by the Hogs.

FYI: Toldeo Walleye making 4 visits to Sears Centre over the next couple of months. Make it over to an Express game to see the Blackhawks ECHL team.
