I live in Rockford.. I work at the newspaper here in the sports department. It's a neat thing, I get to interview IceHog players a few times. I got to interview Kris Versteeg, which was sweet.

The sports section has gone downhill. Reading an article from Trowbridge makes me want to stab myself in the eyes. They put more focus on high school sports now then anything else. And the rest of the paper is just meh. The quality has gone down and the price has went up.

lol I can agree with you on that. (Off the record though).

The reason is, because more people turn to the sun-times or Tribune for Chicago and national sports, because they have reporters that cover all the major sports.

A newspaper like the Star, cant have a reporter to fly with the bulls, bears, cubs, sox, Hawks. So the focus is on Prep.

Believe it or not, but many locals around here REALLY care about Prep.

Do you live in or near Rockford?
