Sounders just committed $41,000,000 to get the US Captain, so much that he was able to skip over Portland, #1 in the allocation line.

HUGE get, and while I'm no Sounders fan, it is great to see more players from the USMNT choose MLS over Europe, even if it took until he was 30 to make a return.

That's a huge get for Seattle.

And for MLS as a whole.

We no longer have Beckham, so more marquee players need to be had. Now Donovan is back in LA, Bocanegra is in the league, and now Dempsey... adding more USMNT players anywhere in the league is good IMO. Not to mention last year's record scoring leader is now scoring quite a bit for the National team as well (Wondo).

Seattle is already just 4 back of Vancouver with 2 games at hand for the final Western playoff spot as well.

^ Only thing worse would be to be owned by Kraft.

The Fire need changes throughout their entire organization. Willingness to spend big $, marketing, etc.

1) Increase designated player budget.
2) Land a big name.
3) Actually market to the general population of Chicago, rather than just those already watching the team (ever see a Fire commercial? Sure you have... during the game)
4) English radio please...
5) Release broadcast schedules BEFORE the season starts.
6) Every game televised in English, even when espanol broadcasts are already on nationally.

Do this, and this franchise becomes one of the best in the league again IMO.

All but one game were televised in English, 1st game against Los Angeles was only in Spanish. The 4/20 Columbus game wasn't on a English or Spanish station (Chicago-fire.com), at least this year they weren't on Nonstop 5.2.

But the other 5 on your list are NEVER going to happen under Andy's ownership, even #5 because he waits to the last second for the cheapest option.

Three players can go outside the cap, but still count as a smaller hit, everyone else needs to stay under. It's systematically done to lower expenses, but at the same time make it possible to bring marquee names into the league.

Good move for the MLS, but hopefully it doesn't effect Dempsey's play on the USMNT. And I was really looking forward to seeing him battle it out for a starting spot on Tottenham.

THANK **** THAT REVVY SCUM POS IS NOW OFF MY BELOVED TOTTENHAM.

And I find it fitting that that POS nicknamed after a POS is going to wear the number that represents shit on a team who's name means a floating piece of shit.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Out of curiosity, do you support him when he plays for the USMNT, or is he always "Revvy Scum"?

I don't 'support' the USMNT, so that should answer that.

And yes, as for your unasked question, I am, and have always been, club before country.

C LI N T Dempsey is always just that (let me know if you need a hint).

Do you have a different favorite national team? Or are you just not a fan of international play?

Would have liked to see JK call up more of the A-Squad seeing as this is the only game to reintegrate LD to the full squad before the WCQ.

Controversial, yes, good for league, yes.

In fact, the controversy itself does nothing but generate more buzz, which of course, is also good for the league.
