The MLS is growing, the Primera Division is folding in favor of a new league.
The new Primera Liga will be using the MLS and EPL models combined according to C.D. Guadalajara and Chivas USA owner Jorge Vergara.

Young Mexican players have come out saying that the MLS will be the plac to be over Mexico over the next decade.

Which do you think is better and why?

I have no idea whatsoever... little details of the new league have come out, but they want a title sponsor like EPL and I am not sure what the MLS part is.

Most likely they would structure the league in a salary cap format and/or they would have a central org that owns 51% of ALL teams and then individual 'owners' would manage the day to day and hold a share of the club commensurate with 49%. I would imagine they would do one--or both of those measures to ensure that there is fiscal responsibility and accountability.

Let's face it, while sport is sport, there is a bit far too much 'entertainment' in sports these days and inflated wages and transfer fees have ruined many leagues and careers. Playing it 'cheap' as many complains does mean you might not always have a stacked team, but it does help to ensure that you always do have a team to support.

The Mexican league is better than MLS however that will change in 5-10 years as MLS grows.

The only way MLS will be the "place to be" over the Mexican League for Mexicans and Mexican Americans is if they increase salaries. Guy like Herculez Gomez is making close to a couple million over there and he expressed interest in coming back to MLS but no team was willing to give him a DP contract so he was only offered around $350,000 a year. If one day MLS can operate with a higher salary cap of 8 to 10 million for each team, then I think the quality of the league would be very close to the Mexican league.
