I like it. They seemed to have gotten their online matchmaking issue fixed. and that was my only issue with it.
If you like Mario Kart games, you'll like this.
A bit more strategy when raving in MNR as opposed to Mario Kart.
you have this boost meter that you can use for speed or a shield to block incoming attacks. So you have to decide how to use it.
And unlike Mario Kart, you can build up your attacks to a level 3. So when you get the little weapon pods, you can save three for a big atatck, or just use them right away when you get 1 or 2.
And the creation thing is cool. there's a hell of lot better stuff on there than the stuff I made.
If you look in the background of the picture you'll see the Top 3 downloaded characters. I think it's Iron Man, Mario and Spider-man. The created kart are good too.
Pretty cool game. I've been looking for games that I can keep for PS3, and this will be one.

Is it a pay to download the different tracks and characters? I ask because I am contemplating picking this up.

No, you can download all user creations for free.
PS has some things you can pay for. But it's like paying for extra Nike hats on tiger Woods. Not necessary.
Here's a Cubs Kart I just made. If you get it, you'll be able to download it.

Looks like a fun game, I may buy it but I will rent it. I loved the Mario Kart games and I still play them on occasion w/ friends.

You can spend hours creating stuff on there. The characters and the karts can be done pretty quick. The Cubs one I threw together in about 15 min or so.
But when you make your own track, you can spend a few hours on that.
