Between a theapist and self-medication...this seems almost too obvious. I will be disappointed if they play that card.
Otherwise, it's been enjoyable. That detox episode was a lot of fun. All caught up now and looks like shit just got real for our hero.

Just watched all of the available Mr. Robot episodes, through episode 8.
Just gotta day, damn. That shit is good. Here are my thoughts...
Acting is generally exceptional. Christian Slater is maybe the weakest of the bunch. The main character is very very good. So understated but still very expressive. Can portray a pretty wide range with zero dialog.
Main story is very good, but its mostly the characters that make it so compelling. Sub plots are exceptional in that they are interesting, but most of all, they actually develop the characters and drive the narrative forward. Its a nice departure from the typical parallel arcs that are usually used to add bullshit fluff and fill out seasons. Some good surprises too that aren't forced and again, actually serve the narrative rather than distract from it.
Characters are mostly multidimensional and have depth and independent motivations and trajectories.
Dialog is a little up and down, ranging from average-ish to good. Rarely great imo.
Writing is overall fucking amazing. The overdubbed narration tends to be overly expositional and self indulgent - but I don't even care. Its so fucking good. So well written with actual thematic relevance.
Overall, imo, this show is covering worn ground thematically, but is managing amazing levels of authenticity and sincerity. It has 2-3 min passages with zero dialog that are intense as ****. And on the flipside, the narrator exposition dumps are a pleasure to listen to. Which is insanely rare. The action sequences are appropriate and never over done. All of the self indulgence in this series is intellectual and I love it. Imo, best show in years.
