My favorite teams
I must have been high...
Anyway, there are 4 teams vying for final spot, New York, Portland, Chicago, and D.C.
D.C. has one game at hand.
NY: 43 Pts.
PR: 40 Pts.
CH: 40 Pts.
DC: 38 Pts.
BUT, it will take a lot to get the tiebreaker against NY.
Tie-breaker scenarios:
Tied 1-1 and 2-2 against NY, trail by 5 in Goal Differential
Lost 4-2 and 1-0 to PR, lose tiebreaker
We win the tiebreaker against ourselves, lol
DC: Tied 1-1 and Won 2-1 against DC, win tiebreaker
So New York, Portland, and D.C. have to lose (D.C. can win AND lose, OR win AND Tie), AND we need to make up the 5 goal differential behind New York.
IF we finished tied with NY in Goal Differential, it goes to Total Goals. The Fire have 43, the Red Bulls have 49. So we basically trail by 6.
After that it goes into how each team did on the road for tie-breakers 1-3.
So, we need:
New York: Lose by 3 and we win by 3, or any other combination amounting to 6
Portland: Lose or draw
Chicago: Win
D.C.: Lose or draw 1 of their games
So, here is the next match(es) for each team:
New York: vs. Philadelphia Thursday,
Portland: @ D.C. Wednesday,
Chicago: vs. Columbus Saturday,
D.C.: vs. Portland Wednesday, vs. Kansas City Saturday,
D.C. NEEDS to win OR draw against Portland or we are out.
Go :fire:
