It could be what he's been fed. The Chinese are known for putting stuff in products they make that can potentially kill dogs. Some of the treats they make even have antifreeze in them.

Sorry to hear that, man. There's about a hundred things that could have done it. My sister had a mastiff that kind of did the same thing. Turns out his stomach twisted or something like that, and he just died.

When big dogs, such as Mastiff's, for example, are running a lot, a twisted stomach isn't terribly uncommon...and if it isn't treated immediately, death follows. It sucks...Sorry for your sister, and definitely sorry for the OP and his family and pet.

Quick story that I thought was cool...

A friend of mine is a General Contractor and owns a bunch of heavy equipment, backhoe's, bulldozers, bobcats...all that shit. He builds awesome stuff, he built a really nice doghouse for his dog, had siding on it, shingles on the roof, it matched my friends house to a "T". Anyways, His dog died unexpectedly and it really tore him up.

Long story, short...my friend buried his dog, IN his doghouse! Yes, he buried the dog, and the entire doghouse!

I thought that was really neat of him.

Sorry man. I have little wuss dogs but I'm going to be a mess when they die. My little white Maltese we got cause my wife's Mom could take care of it. I didn't want it but my wife did. Not long after we got her my dad died and that dog would not leave my side. Needless to say I grew attached.
