WHY THE BULLS WILL WIN
Written by Andrew Wamboldt of DaBullz.com

The last time the Bulls were in the playoffs, they swept the defending champion Miami Heat. Once again, the Bulls will be looking to knock off the defending champions in the first round, as they take on the Boston Celtics. The Bulls attack will start with Ben Gordon, who will need to have a big series to prove that he should be paid big money in Chicago. He will be accompanied by Derrick Rose, who made a burst towards stardom, averaging 19.5 points and 7.5 assists in the month of April. This fearsome duo should wreak havoc on the Celtics’ guards.

The Celtics, who are still a good team even without Kevin Garnett, mostly because of Thibodeau’s lockdown defense. Without KG in the mix, the Bulls’ athletic young big men, Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah, will run rampant and should be enough to push the series in the Bulls’ direction.

The Bulls, who went 12-4 in their final 16 games, are by far the most likely lower seed to take out one of the Eastern Conference elite.

I don't like that at all, as it is a bit of a misrepresentation of what I said. I wrote it before the KG injury, so it looks like they edited it to reflect KG being out, but it poorly reflects what I wrote.

Here's what I actually wrote.

The last time the Bulls were in the playoffs, they swept the defending champion Miami Heat. Once again, the Bulls will be looking to knock off the defending champions in the first round, as they take on the Boston Celtics. The Bulls attack will start with Ben Gordon, who will have a big series to prove that he should be paid big money in Chicago. He will be accompanied by Derrick Rose, who made a burst towards stardom, averaging 19.5 points and 7.5 assists in the month of April. This fearsome duo should wreak havoc on the Celtics' guards.

The Celtics, who are still a good team even without Kevin Garnett, because of Thibodeau's lockdown defense, are uncertain about what they will get out of their star, who hasn't played since April 25th because of a sore right knee. If Garnett is forced to sit out most of the series with a knee injury, the Bulls will win the series. If Garnett is lacking mobility as a result of his injury, the Bulls' athletic, young big men, Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah, will run rampant on Garnett, which should be enough to push the series in the Bulls' direction.

Even if Garnett is healthy enough to make it through the series, he will still have to work himself back into game shape. With Garnett's play likely to be hampered, the Bulls, who went 12-4 in their final 16 games, are by far the most likely lower seed to take out one of the Eastern Conference elite.

It's not that bad, IMO. They did make it sound more negative, which is always a bad thing. But I don't think it's necessarily all that bad of an edit. I don't see why they would even edit, though.

Congrats on getting a piece into Dime. Editors can be rough though. Sometimes you wonder why they bother having you write anything at all.

Yeah, it's frustrating working with editors most of the time.

It's even more frustrating, when they edit it, and make some sentenced not even be gramatically correct, such as, "The Celtics, who are still a good team even without Kevin Garnett, mostly because of Thibodeau’s lockdown defense."

I've worked with the people from Dime a couple times, because we run ad campaigns for them occasionally. They've always been pretty cool when I've interacted with them, but I wonder how much sustainability they have going forward.

I thought for sure Sharp had an inflated scoring percentage too, but he really doesn't. He's only slightly above his career average this season, by like 1%, not how it is with Steen being twice over his career average.

I fully support this thread based on my friend grabbing Steen with the very last pick and proceeding to have one of the best teams in the league. He has also won every goal pool this year because of it.

Steen was the classic guy in a salary drive. There's no chance of his freakish production tailing off now that he's got his paper.

Nope. Nosiree...

He has been an anonomaly for sure. He has pulled some true sniper shots out of his ass, and has been in the right place at the right time for a ton of goals. It's head scratching.

This guy started the season with a 9.07% shooting percentage in 8 full seasons, who was shooting 20.5% when he got hurt.

Good luck keeping that up.

It's not just him either, another player that plays into why the Blues have been scoring so much has been Backes. He also has a shooting percentage that is over 21%, nearly twice his career average just like Steen. These things usually even themselves out. The Blues, for most of the season, have been among the worst teams in shots on goal and they are among, if not the, top team in scoring percentage. That's.....abnormal to say the least. Maybe it lasts the entire season, maybe it lasts throughout the playoffs, who knows. Hockey is just weird that way sometimes, blind luck and or chance or karma or whatever you want to call it, plays so much into it.
