The only Vinny holdout left, but it says that he could return in a front office capacity.

He was part of Vinny's staff but he's been on the staff since 2003. So he came along when Cartwright was still coach and was under Skiles, Boylan, Vinny.

He'll stay with the team in some capacity. Not sure what though.

IMO he has been an over glorified player development coach. A real brown-noser with the FO and I'm glad Tom read through him. I LIKE Pete, so with all due respect, I don't want to slam him, he has made strides as an assistant, he's just not that good. He can't engineer plays in comparison to the median line of assistants out there, and there are guys out there without an NBA job, who would love to be an assistant who can do so much more. Terry Porter can do more, and I don't know if hes the best guy, but I am happy if Thibs has made the most of his opportunity to upgrade his staff when possible.

Quoted for truth. Echoing my own thoughts here, but put them down better than I could have.

I feel a lot better about the coaching staff without Pete. I'd prefer for him to have a front office job than an assistant.

Ah, not a huge deal to me that he isn't on the bench.
