Seriously. What you afraid of the commies stealing tech that is 50 years old? Quit being assholes and wasting taxpayer money with these fucking games and actually do better than send robots to Mars.

I understand both sides position. If there is really a memo from 1970s giving the astronauts permission to keep items for memorabilia I think the government will lose this case. Seems like a lucrative thing for the astronauts, and the government no doubt resents them profitting from it and would rather display the items at the National Space museum.

Then win the bid.

Give more money to NASA instead of waging pointless wars, invest in space technology. With the money spent on the wars, we've probably be much closer to get a manned mission to Mars than we are now.

I'm not sure i"m on board with just dumping a bunch of money on nasa to let the do all their pet projects wish. I would like there to be 1 or 2 set firm goals or projects that need to be done and would be most useful to humanity. And then shut everything else down and focus on those. Like, walking on mars or colonizing the moon or somethign big like that. Focus the money so there is less possibility for seepage.

What I would like to see is not NASA, but an international space organization, receiving funding from all the world governments, with members of all nationalities working together toward a common goal. In space we arent americans or chinese or russians so on and so fourth, we are all humans to anything or one out there.

This would be the most optimal solution.

Screw that. We tried that, the ISS looks like an erector set gone horribly wrong.

And colonial times law says the Moon is ours, our flag our rock.

Yep. I'd be all for that. but i'm not sure how I feel about a multi national organization recieving huge amounts of money to work together to make a utopian space organization. Space is like international waters! haha Sounds like a bond movie.

I think you'd have a better chance of aligning along religions than countries, haha... can you imagine the catholics racing the buddists into space. What a movie/book/tv event that would be.

Atheists would win. Don't have to take breaks to pray.

Can we shoot Bickell into space and leave him there?
