My favorite teams
We have seen a trend in recent years of franchises having success in the minor leagues and then the MLS granting the owner's an expansion team to the majors, bringing their name and history with them. And now, a city always thought of as a potentially great soccer market has received an expansion franchise in the Division II North American Soccer League for 2014. That's right, our next-door neighbors have made their first steps towards joining the MLS. I hope the fans in Indy can support this team well enough to finally get the Fire a real geographic rival that can be built off of existing rivalries in other sports. (Bulls and Pacers in the same division, Bears and Colts played in Super Bowl). We just don't have that with Kansas City (Sox-Royals I guess, but not really strong) or Columbus (LOL, Blue Jackets). Indianapolis will join Ottawa and Virginia (Loudoun) to bring the league up to 12 teams after the New York Cosmos join for the second half of the 2013 season (along with the Puerto Rico Islanders who are taking the first half off this year).
